This painting focuses on the moment of meditative concentration during the shiko exercise, a fundamental part of each sumo wrestler's training. This painting depicts not only physical strength but also the inner discipline required to master this ancient ritual. Although only the rear part of the body with the belt is shown, "Shiko" invites the viewer to look beyond the physical appearance and reflect on the inner spiritual aspect of discipline and the connection between the physical and spiritual.
